A state level symposium on the popular novel by Dr. Prabhakara Shishila ‘Pumstree’ took place at SDM College Ujire on 25th of July. Belthangady Unit of Kannada Sahitya Parishat and the Kannada department of the college jointly organized this event.
‘Pumstree’ is a novel that transcends the limits of conventional virtues and commercialism. It is a must have in everyone’s library, said experienced laureate P R Shastri. He added that it is a great honor for an author to be commemorated with a symposium about his book at his very hometown.
Dr. Prabhakara Shishila was felicitated at the occasion on behalf of SDM College. Answering the felicitation, Dr. Shishila delivered a reminiscence of his days at Siddhavana Gurukula and SDM College.
The Secretary of SDME Society Dr. B Yashovarma, Principal Prof. Sateeshchandra, HOD of Kannada department Dr. Sampath Kumar were present among the others.
