Prioritize Goals and Move Forward with Skills: Kritikarani Yellapur

Students should identify their priorities in life and develop the necessary skills to achieve them, said Kritikarani Yellapur, an alumna of SDM College and a television scriptwriter.

She was speaking at the inauguration of ‘InkSPire 2K25,’ a one-day inter-class competition organized by the Journalism Department of SDM College. Addressing the gathering, she emphasized that while confusion is common in undergraduate studies, students should step out of their comfort zones during postgraduate education. This is the time to define their career goals and prepare accordingly, she advised.

Principal Dr. B.A. Kumar Hegde presided over the event and unveiled the event’s trophy. He stated that good writing and communication have the power to shape a community, bringing either positive or negative impacts. Writing can influence, change, and transform society, he added.

Dr. Bhaskar Hegde, Head of the Journalism Department, welcomed the gathering and remarked that along with academic activities, students should also focus on extracurricular engagements. Events like these help in developing leadership qualities and program management skills among students, he noted.

The event was attended by second-year student representative Tanushree and first-year representative Pavan. Third-year student representative Manasa P. Agnihotri delivered the vote of thanks. The event was compered by students Manish Shetty and Sinchana Kalluraya.
