The seven-day annual special camp of the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of SDM College Ujire for the year 2023-24 is being organized at the Government Higher Primary School, Gurippalla, Dakshina Kannada district, with the theme "Youth for Science and Scientific Temperament". The camp was inaugurated on January 27.
Speaking after inaugurating the camp, Dr. Satishchandra S., Secretary of SDM Educational Institutions, said that NSS camps are organized to provide hands-on training to students. He opined that these camps help school and college students develop communication skills and social consciousness in rural areas.
Presiding over the function, Dr. B. A. Kumar Hegde, Principal of SDM College Ujire, said that NSS plays a key role in the mental and physical development of youth and school children and in inculcating self-confidence in them. Dr. Mahesh Kumar Shetty H., NSS Program Officer, proposed the vote of thanks, while Prof. Deepa R. P. welcomed the gathering. Volunteer Sinchana compered the program.
