Media, Culture and Technology: Mapping the Socio-Political Architecture

Ujire, January 6, 2024: A national media fest on the theme of “Media, Culture and Technology: Mapping the Socio-Political Architecture” will be held at the seminar hall of Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara College in Ujire on March 1 and 2. The fest is being jointly organized by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication (UG and PG) and the B.Voc (Digital Media & Film Making) Department of the college.

The brochure for the fest was released by the college principal, Dr. B.A. Kumar Hegde,. Dr. Bhaskar Hegde, head of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, Madhava Holla, head of the B.Voc (Digital Media & Film Making) Department, and Dr. Hampaesh K.S., assistant professor of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication (PG) and secretary of the organizing committee, were present.

The fest will feature a variety of events, including keynote addresses, panel discussions, workshops, and competitions. The keynote addresses will be delivered by eminent scholars and media professionals. The panel discussions will focus on the role of media in shaping culture and society, the impact of technology on media, and the challenges facing the media in the digital age. The workshops will provide participants with the opportunity to learn new skills in areas such as journalism, film making, and digital media. The competitions will test participants’ skills in areas such as news writing, photography, and videography
