Literature Vital for Holistic Development of Humanity: Dr. Satishchandra S.

Ujire – “Themes in literature contribute to the upliftment of individuals and society. Philosophical verses (Tatvapadas) embody moral values. For the inner and outer growth of human beings, literature is essential,” said Dr. Satishchandra S., Secretary of SDM Educational Society.
He was inaugurating a two-day national seminar on “Tatvapadas – A Cultural Perspective” on September 19, jointly organized by the Kannada Department of SDM College, Ujire, and the Santakavi Kanakadasa and Tatvapada Study Centre, Bengaluru.
Presiding over the event, Principal Dr. Vishwanath P. noted that historically, society was plagued by discrimination and narrow-mindedness, and it was Tatvapadas and Dasa literature that introduced the idea of equality. He urged students to imbibe the essence of Tatvapadas and emerge as good orators in society.
On the occasion, a special issue of the Kannada wall magazine “Sirigannada” was released. The event was attended by S. Satyanarayana, officer from the Santakavi Kanakadasa and Tatvapada Study Centre, Bengaluru, SDM Society academic coordinator S.N. Kakatkar, faculty from various colleges, and students.
Dr. Bojamma K.N., Head of the Kannada Department, welcomed the gathering. Dr. Naganna D.A. proposed the vote of thanks, while Bhavyashree Ballal compered the programme.
