“Let’s Make the Best Use of India’s Knowledge Systems” – Dr. Satishchandra

Ujire – “India possesses a unique wealth of knowledge, and by understanding this knowledge system, we can all become wise and enlightened,” said Dr. Satishchandra S., Secretary of SDM Educational Society. He was speaking at the inauguration of a one-day national workshop titled ‘Ganita-Sanskrit Sangama’, jointly organized by the Sanskrit and Mathematics Departments at SDM College, Ujire, on September 24.
Dr. Satishchandra highlighted India’s knowledge tradition as a valuable heritage that has influenced the world, noting how foreign powers historically sought to impose their cultures by overlooking India’s intellectual wealth. He emphasized the importance of building bridges between different branches of knowledge, a principle echoed in the National Education Policy, and said workshops like this are crucial for applying this wisdom today.
Principal Dr. Vishwanatha P., presiding over the event, stated that Indian knowledge systems are embedded in every aspect of life and urged participants to explore and appreciate them. Resource persons Prof. Sripathi Kalluraya, President of Vivekananda College, Puttur, and Dr. Suresh Babu, Assistant Professor, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, CEIT Hyderabad, were felicitated during the programme.
The event was welcomed by Dr. Shridhar N. Bhatt, registrar of the Administration and Head of the Sanskrit Department , B. Ganesh Nayak, Head of the Mathematics Department, offered felicitations. Students Dharitri Bhide and Sinchana Palande served as the compere for the workshop.
