International Peace Day Observed at SDM College, Ujire

Ujire – The Department of Political Science at SDM College, Ujire, organized a programme to mark International Peace Day on September 23. The event was graced by Ajeya, Director of Rudseti Ujire, as the chief guest. He emphasized that students are the future leaders, scientists, and social change-makers, and that peace must begin with individual actions. He stressed the importance of communication, handling differences constructively, and promoting positivity in both personal and college life.
Department Head Nataraj H.K. presided over the programme and highlighted India’s longstanding tradition of advocating peace, noting the country’s role as a global teacher of values. He added that the Political Science Department educates students on the Constitution and commemorates significant days like Peace Day and Kargil Day to instill awareness of the nation’s sacrifices and heritage.
Students and faculty members took the Peace Day pledge, affirming their commitment to fostering harmony. Faculty member Bhagyashree, student Shreyank welcomed the guests, Padmashree introduced the chief guest, Dr. Shivakumar proposed felicitation, and student Manav compered the event.
