SDM College Ujire, in collaboration with Rashtriya Samaja Vijnana Parishad, has organised an ICSSR-sponsored National Seminar on Indigenous Practices in Higher Education India: Steps Ahead on 29 and 30 March 2023. Prof. Krishna Bhat, Chancellor of Central University, Odisha, inaugurated the seminar in the presence of Prof. Sheila Rai, President, India Policy Foundation and Member ICSSR, Prof M S Mudiththaya Pro Vice-Chancellor, Nitte Deemed To Be University, Dr Samesh Salian, Director (Research), Tumour University and other dignitaries on and off the Dias. Dr S Satheeshchandra, Secretary, SDME-Society, Ujire, presided over the inaugural session. Dr Ganaraj, Head of the Department of Economics, Proposed a vote of thanks and Dr Mahesh Shetty, Mastered the Ceremony. The seminar witnessed plenary sessions by eminent scholars such as Prof. B Jayaram Bhat, Retired Professor of Economics, Kuvempu University, Dr Midhun V P, Assistant Professor, Govt College, Kasaragod, Prof. Madhava Bhat, Retired Principal, Vivekananda College, Puttur, Prof. Shripathy K P, Prof. of Economics (Read.), Mangalore University, Dr H D Prashanth, Professor, Dept of developmental Studies, Kannada University, Hampi, Prof. G V Joshi, Prof. of Economics (Read.), Mangalore University, Prof. Vignesh N Bhat, Vice President, RSVP NewDelhi, Robert Clive, Associate Professor, Crossland College, Brahmavar. Research Scholars presented their papers on the relevant topics in parallel Technical Sessions.
Prof. P Subrahmanya Yadapadithaya, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Mangalore University, delivered the Valedictory address of the seminar. The ceremony facilitated the guests of honour. In a cordial function, the organisers facilitated Dr A Jayakumar Shetty, Principal of the college and Dr Ganaraja K, Coordinator of the Seminar. In closing words on the seminar, Dr Sheila Rai, Member ICSSR, NewDelhi, expressed her satisfaction in successfully organising a National Level Seminar in SDM College.
