A Condolence meeting was held in the Institute on 30th Dec 2019 to pay tribute to the divine soul of Sri Vishwesha Theertha Swamiji of Pejavar Mutt, Udupi. Shri Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji of the Pejavara Mutt was a prominent seer who was closely affiliated with Dharmasthala and all the institutions of SDM for decades. Most faculty and students of SDM feel a personal loss at the demise of the divine soul.
prof. Sateeshchandra, the Principal of the college reflected over the simple yet divine personality of Pejavara Shree Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji. Ramachandra Purohit, Assistant Professor of Sanskrit at SDM College Ujire who was a disciple of Pejavara Shree stated that Shree was an incredible personality who could travel the country despite his physical limitations. He also reminded the audience that Shree was a seer who strived for equality amongst different communities and strived for betterment of all.
Shridhar Bhat mastered the ceremony. Faculty and students of the college offered floral reverences to the photograph of Pejavara Shree. Monday, 30th of December was declared a holiday in mourning of his deminse.
