79th Independence Day Celebrated with Patriotic Fervor at Ujire’s Sri D. Ratnavarma Heggade Stadium

The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with grandeur and patriotic zeal at the Sri D. Ratnavarma Heggade Stadium, Ujire, under the theme “Building a New India with Prosperity, Safety, and Determined Progress.” The event was marked by a disciplined march-past, flag hoisting, and cultural performances that echoed the spirit of nationalism.
Retired Army Officer Major General M. V. Bhat hoisted the National Flag in the presence of Dr. Satishchandra S., Secretary of SDM Educational Society. NCC cadets rendered the guard of honor, while Rovers and Rangers volunteers supported the event with a spirited band performance. Students of SDM Kala Kendra sang the National Anthem, Vande Mataram, and Sare Jahan Se Achha, filling the atmosphere with patriotic fervor. Students also showcased a vibrant flag display to mark the occasion.
The celebration brought together students, faculty, and staff from various SDM institutions, including schools, pre-university, degree, naturopathy, technical, B.Ed., D.Ed., Polytechnic, and ITI colleges under the SDM Educational Society.
