77th Republic Day Celebrated at SDM Campus, Ujire

The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour at the Sri D. Rathnavarma Heggade Sports Ground, Ujire, organised by the SDM Educational Society. The programme reflected a strong commitment to building a bright future while upholding India’s rich heritage and values.
Retired Lieutenant Commander of the Indian Navy, Bharat Kumar, hoisted the national flag in the presence of SDM Educational Society Secretary Dr. Satishchandra S. Students showcased vibrant cultural performances highlighting India’s administrative, social, and cultural ideals.
NCC cadets of SDM College, under the guidance of NCC (Army) Officer Lt. Dr. Bhanuprakash, conducted an impressive march past accompanied by the Rovers and Rangers band. Students from the Kala Kendra rendered the national anthem and patriotic songs. A tableau display by students of various SDM schools and colleges depicted India’s diverse history and cultural legacy.
Principals, heads of departments, teaching and non-teaching staff, NSS volunteers, sports students, local residents, and students participated in the celebrations. On the occasion, achievements of SDM institution students were also presented. In the tableau competition, Siddhavana Gurukula team won first prize, followed by the Polytechnic College team in second place.
