SDM College, Ujire Clinches First Place at National Drama Competition

The play ‘Bhishmasthamana’ by SDM College, Ujire emerged victorious at the national-level drama competition ‘Abhinaya’, securing first place along with six divisional awards, including the prestigious Best Overall Play title.

The competition, held at Jain University, witnessed participation from over 40 teams, with only six making it to the final round. The SDM College team delivered a stellar performance under the direction of renowned theatre artist Yashavanth Beltangady, who won the Best Director award. Amit Kumar, portraying the role of Shri Krishna, was awarded Best Actor, while Amrutavarshini, who played Arjuna, received the Best Actress accolade. Additionally, Madan and team were honored with the Best Music award. The team also bagged awards for Best Lighting and Best Set Design, further showcasing their all-round excellence in theatre production.

The event highlighted the immense talent and creativity of the participants, with SDM College standing out for their exceptional execution and storytelling.
