Recent Trends in Banking, Finance, and Insurance Discussed at National-Level Seminar

A one-day national-level seminar on "Recent Trends in Banking, Finance, and Insurance" was held at Sri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara (SDM) College here on Thursday. The event, organized by the college’s commerce department, business administration department, and postgraduate studies and research in commerce department, in association with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), aimed to bring together experts and stakeholders to discuss the latest developments in the banking, finance, and insurance sectors.

Dr. Satishchandra S., secretary of SDM Educational Institutions, inaugurated the seminar and emphasized the crucial role of banking institutions in the global economy. He stressed that staying informed about developments in the banking sector can make life easier in the modern era. CA Abdululla Madumoole, former financial controller of Zayed Group, Abu Dhabi, was the chief guest. He highlighted the importance of adapting to changes in the environment and embracing new technologies to stay ahead.

Dr. Kinari Thakar, professor of commerce at the University of Mumbai, spoke about the need for sustainable practices in the banking sector and its impact on society. The seminar featured technical sessions, paper presentations, and discussions on various topics related to banking, finance, and insurance. Dr. B.A. Kumar Hegde, principal of SDM College, presided over the function and emphasized the need for bridging the gap between industry experts and consumers. The seminar was coordinated by Dr. Shakuntala, head of the business administration department, and Dr. Priya Kumari, head of the postgraduate studies and research in commerce department. Dr. Ratnavathi K., head of the commerce department, welcomed the gathering, while Dr. Lakshminarayana K.S., secretary of the seminar, proposed the vote of thanks. The program was compered by students Kshithi and others.
