Kalarava-2023′, an inter class event was organised by the Faculty of Arts of SDM College, Ujire on Friday, 23 June 2023. Mentioning the profound impact of creativity and the transformative role of literature, SG Bhat, the Public Relations Officer at Benaka Hospital- Ujire, shared insightful thoughts during the inauguration of the event. In his address, he emphasised that creativity has the ability to accomplish the seemingly impossible. According to him, thinking differently and embracing self-confidence can enhance productivity and help individuals to get rid of negative thoughts. He also highlighted that in competitions, results are not the ultimate but they scale the potentials within the participants for constant upgradation. positive thought motivate the participants in reaching significant milestones on the path to success.
Dr. B.A. Kumar Hegde, the Principal of the College, who presided over the event emphasised the importance of pursuing one’s passions and interests on a daily basis to develop a strong personality. He encouraged students to confront difficult situations with a determined mindset, underlining the value of introspection fostered through such competitions. Dr Hegde expressed his belief that participation in such events would tap the potential energies and create cherished memories for the students. Dr. Shaleep Kumari, the Arts Dean, Mr Shravan Kumar, the student representative were present. The gathering was welcomed by Dr. Sridhar Bhat, the Head of the Department of Sanskrit. Annapurna, a student, compered the programme. Ms Manasa, proposed the vote of thanks.
The day long programme witnessed 10 competitions arranged in the college designed for student participation. They were judged by eminent personalities and prizes were distributed in the valedictory ceremony held in the evening. Mr Pramod Kumar, Principal of SDM PU College, Ujire, Chief Guest of the ceremony, distributed the prizes to the winners in various categories and wishes the students every success in their future endeavours. Dr Shalip, Dean of Arts of the College presided over the programme. Mr Shravan Kumar, student coordinator of the event, proposed the vote of thanks.
