He shared his views while inaugurating a workshop on Opportunities in Rural Journalism organized by the SDM College Postgraduate Centre in collaboration with Suddhi Bidugade newspaper and the Department of Journalism. The workshop addressed key issues such as opportunities in rural journalism, challenges faced by rural reporters, developmental journalism, and the balance between positive and negative reporting. Students and media professionals participated in a lively discussion on these topics.
Dr. U.P. Shivananda, Managing Director of Suddhi Bidugade, Mangalore Press Club President P.B. Harish Rai, senior journalist Jitendra Kundeshwar, and Rakesh Kumar Kamaje, Principal of Ambika Vidyalaya, Puttur, Shailesh kumar , HOD department of computer science, were present as guests. Dr. Bhaskar Hegde, Head of the Journalism Department at SDM College, welcomed the gathering and provided an introduction to the event.
